The Suzuki Kizashi has been with us now for six months and over 10,000 miles. It's gone on road trips, and it's served as an accommodating mule for editors, their friends and their families. How's it holding up?
Pretty well, now that you mention it. The seat fabric still looks new and unsoiled, the door panels are relatively scuff-free and the switchgear is still shiny-looking and intact. It'll be interesting to see what the next six months bring.

Thank goodness for this post. It's been a whole freaking day since an IL staffer posted a gush 'article' on the Kizashi.
As jm1212 said, get back to me on it's looks when it's six YEARS old, not six months old. What the hell were you expecting it to look like after six months?

Have you never driven a 6 month old rental car that looked like crap?
6 months in the long term fleet is nothing like 6 months as someones pride and joy.

Winna, winna, chicken dinna!
Besides, the current condition of the cars in their test fleet and how they're holding up are part of what we read "long-term road tests" for. It can't all be test numbers and suspension walk-arounds.

So, Edmunds needs to give us a factor: What is the ratio between Edmunds LTRT wear and tear and the real world?

Only those that also look like crap on the showroom floor.

so even if this car were driven every day by edmunds, that does not mean any more miles on the seats than your regular joe who drives the car every day. the abuse from track testing is the only factor that may differ from the regular joe... although i know some who are meticulous enough to not eat and drink in the car and even use leather conditioner or whatever to maintain the seats, most people simply drive it and probably wash it/ clean it far less than your fleet cars.

I saw one of these the other day, and I must say, they are quite the attractive car. VW Jetta in size, but less bug-eyed.

Its interesting that the other automotive mags/sites with long term Kizashis are not gushing over them like Edmunds is. The consensus seems to be that once the new (and shock) wears off that this is a decent, but very average car, not the next coming of the 3 series like the Edmunds editors seem to believe.

Hey! The two "guys" above me said the exact same thing! I think they're both accounts opened by Hyundai to discredit the Kizoo and foment malicious negativity about IL! :)
