I spent last week on vacation in Michigan, loafing at my parents' house and borrowing cars and bumming rides from every member of my immediate family.
The Motor City 3 were all respresented, as one would expect in the Detroit area, plus one Honda owned by my rebellious older brother.
Came back to California and climbed right into our long-term Ford Flex.
It was just like bringing back a piece of home.

I like think of the Flex as representing the 'New' US auto manufacturing. The 'Old Detroit Iron' scares me.
Too much bad history there.

Speaking of Detroit iron, is the Ford Shelby GT500 now on the LT test fleet?

Took the company Altima to Detroit a couple of weeks ago and felt ashamed. I will be taking our Flex the week of 9/13 to help me sleep better at night. At close to 2 tons, the Flex does represent Detroit Iron...
Just missed the Woodward Dr car show. My co-worker who hails from just N. of Pontiac said I should have stayed the weekend. And if anyone is scared off by the pictures of empty houses, factories and neighborhoods in Detroit - spend a few nights in Royal Oak, just N of Detroit. Several established micro-brews, good food, good night life, live music... I was shocked by the atmosphere!

Your older brother must be the black sheep of the family.

where at in MI?
@cello_one its not a big deal but referring to the Woodward Ave Dream Cruise, as Woodward Dr. Car show made me cringe. Also, royal oak is a great place, always something fun going on.
