2010 Volvo XC60 T6 AWD: Road Trip!

WaltonMap-1600.jpg

Sorry for the strange resolution on that, but here's the plan: Fullerton (home), Arroyo Grande (in-laws), Mendocino (to eat our weight in Abalone), Crater Lake (supposedly there's still snow at the Lodge), and Sun River (for the 4th). On the banzai return, we'll pass through Sacramento (for sleep) and land back in Fullerton.

Grand total miles according to some nifty web site is 1,956 which means I better keep my eye glued to the odometer somewhere around Burbank on the return trip if I'm going to nail the 20K-milestone photo.

Of course, I'll make every attempt to send you pretty pictures and insightful observations so long as I can connect.

Wow, that looks hardcore! There are some long legs in that trip, especially on the way home. Long, boring, CHP-ridden legs.

I'm looking forward to the numerous comparisons to the Flex. :)

Hey on your way to AG stop at Jocko's in Nipomo. You wont be disappointed. I have a lot of friends and family from LA that make a special drive just to go there. Food is cheap but fantastic with huge portions. Heres a link http://www.yelp.com/biz/jockos-steak-house-nipomo

Nice to see you headed this way. Hope you enjoy our little corner of the of the world here in central Oregon.

Beware the CHP near the OR/CA border on the return leg!

+1 on the CHP. I do the Santa Cruz - Bend run fairly often to see the inlaws and recommend a radar detector from 10 miles outside of Klamath Falls (heading south) and then all the way to Weed (until you hit the 5). ORSP and CHP is deadly with the oncoming radar through there.

A photo of the Volvo at Grass Lake (~20 miles south of Klamath Falls on the leg to Weed) would be cool. And of course you need the obligatory shot of you grinning stupidly under the Weed City Limits sign.

That road trip looks to be a blast.
