2010 Suzuki Kizashi: Solid Long Drive Companion

kizashi_fuelup.JPG

Over the past couple of days I've put about 750 miles on our Suzuki Kizashi, nearly all of it on the freeway. The Kizashi proved to be an enjoyable companion. I appreciated the sophisticated ride quality, reasonably quiet cabin, comfortable driver seat (more telescope for the steering wheel would be appreciated, though) and the suitable storage space for road trip paraphernalia. Also impressive was the wide fuel range (I drove 407 miles on one tank and the fuel light hadn't even come on yet) and good fuel economy (32.6 mpg observed average versus EPA highway of 29 mpg). Go Kizashi!

I haven't seen gas mileage that good yet on my 07 Mazda3 2.3 manual yet. (bought two months, 5000 mi ago). Time for a road trip!

mpg figures sounds about right, I'm averaging 27 mixed and about 34 highway with the CVT. impressive to read that the Kizashi took the top spot in the car category in the most recent Autopacific Vehicle Satisfaction Survey, beating the competition in 42 of 48 categories! I know Suzuki is starting at ground zero with public opinion, but the Kizashi has made a believer out of me.

+1 incyphe

Tough to understand whether this is objectively a good car, or just better than super-low expectations.

How about a back to back comparision with other cars in it's price range?

4 cyl Accord, Caamry, Malibu, Fusion?

I can't find a comparision test for it, do you have a link?

Why don't I check it out in person? Because it starts at $30,000 in Canada and I'm still see no reason it's worth that much. Sitting in one the interior seems fine but not $30K fine and a short road test doesn't tell you much.

So I am still looking for more experts reviews.

And maybe somemore interesting variations then a 4 door sedan.
