It's got the best ride by a mile. Wait, make that two miles. The motor is great. It's comfortable, etc. If I could get one with a flat black grille and a manual transmission, I'd be a happy man.

I'd take the Ford over the Toyota any day.

Flat black grille? No problem. http://tinyurl.com/2azfozy
Manual transmission? Big problem... :)

You lost me with this silliness: Dodge > Chevy > Toyota > Ford > Nissan

I agree with brn... That is silliness. To have the Ford so low? WRONG. I've test-driven the F-150 (I plan on replacing the Ranger with one within a year) and IMPRESSIVE. I've also driven the Sierra (like the looks over the Silverado) and I was also impressed with it, but like the F-150 better. Oh, and, by the way, Toyota and Nissan don't make trucks. They are merely posers.

The Ford F-150 is very good up until the point you latch a trailer on the back and tow up the various steep grades we have out west. They may CLAIM the highest tow rating, but the current 5.4-liter V8 is the weakest of these 5, buy a mile. Now, when and if the 6.2 V8 (or the 4.4-liter turbodiesel) is available in a regular F-150, we can talk about moving it up the ranking. I like the Ford a lot, but towing is a huge part of each and every truck purchase I've ever made in the past, and it will be again when I purchase my next truck.
On the other hand, the Raptor is the best truck for me if I leave towing out of math.

Even with the weakest engines in the class which Ford is finally going to be fixing within the next year or two it still the best truck from a quality and reliability stand point.
I will say this though I know the 5.4L does half way decent when geared for towing but you have order that or do a re-gear yourself.
So its Ford > Dodge/Chevy > Toyboata > Toyota > Nissan > Honda (if you want to count that Ridgeline thing as a truck)

Hino, a Toyota subsidary, makes a few trucks that you can't drive without a CDL and double clutching skills.

For all the good press Dodge has received for the Ram imagine the benefits of a 6-speed tranny in terms of towing and fuel economy. HINT HINT Dodge . . .

The fun side of personal perference. All these are real trucks and they are all really good trucks (except maybe the Ridgeline).
Which is the best is just your opinion or which has the best set of options that works for your own unqiue needs. None of the choices are wrong.
I would place them in the same order as Kurt. I like the Dodge and Chevy best but for different reasons. (the Dodge is cool choice while the Chevy is the sensible choice)
I would buy the Toyota over the Ford or the Nissan but that doesn't really matter as I wouldn't buy any of them over the Dodge or Chevy.

The Ford sucks. I drive an F-150 as a company vehicle and the engine is weak. I drive a Titan and the engine is very powerful. Yes it is a light weight truck compared to the Ford, but a reliable truck. No one problem it. Tows trailers like it is not even back there. I have a new Tundra, even more powerful truck. Without Nissan & Toyota, Ford and the other American brands would have kept producing weak trucks. New Dodge is definitely an improvement and the GMC with the 6.0L is definitely needed to keep up with Toy and Nissan.

Well put. I couldn't have said it better myself.
