2009 Dodge Ram 1500: Every Good Road Trip Vehicle Has This...

Ram-with-pizza----717.jpg...A place to comfortably hold your pizza box, that is.

The Ram's center console and shifter couldn't be better suited to this job.

Yes, we were parked. Relax.

1) Little Cesars?!? I haven't seen one of those in 15 years and I miss them so much.
2) Eating in a vehicle?!? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!
3) Eating in a truck when you have a perfectly good tailgate to use as a picnic table?! Double NOOOOOOO!!!!!

Little Caesers, yuck. I would rather eat the box. Californians don't know pizza. Where is the alfalfa sprouts and the tofu?

I second mcgs999's 2nd and 3rd points, unless there was some sort of bad weather at the time.

How can you guys drive with a car smelling like a pizza place?? Yuck!

I have a very strick No-Eating & No-Drinking policy in my car (has led to some interesting conversations with the missus). Infact, when we do a carry-out pizza deal, I put the pizzas in the trunk!

Demonstrating why more cars and all trucks should have the automatic shift lever on the column and not the floor.

30 years ago when I was 15 and taking drivers ed, the console shifter on the 1980 Camaro I got to drive a few times (thanks Phillip's Chevy) was 'sporty' now it just takes up space for storage/cupholders/iPod docks.

Make my auto a column lever with flappy paddles and give me back the console space.

@ wobbly_ears - i had to make some concessions on the no drinking policy. We have agreed on "clear sugar free beverages only" which limits it to water and little else.

Does this truck have a column shift lever? If so, why does it have a full console? I guess I haven't looked at Dodge trucks, but the Fords and Toyotas have three person front seats with the column shifter and two person seats with the console (obviously) and floor shifter. I think.

I like that you can put 6 people in a a reasonably sized pickup, and who needs a floor shifter with an auto tranny anyway?

At least once a month, we go on an camping trip with the boy scouts. I usually have 4 boys in my '03 Ram. We leave at supper time on Friday nights. So, I usually have about 4, $5 footlongs, drinks, chips, and cookies open in my truck as we travel to the woods. They're pretty good about limiting the mess. But, I did have 1/2 a sandwich left under the seat for a weekend and it was pretty rank when we packed up to leave. The Ram has enough cup holders, elbow room, and flat spots for everyone to eat.

Did somebody eat everything but the crust and then put the crust back in the box with the remaining pizza?

That's gross...and poor manners yo.

mmmm.... 5.00 Hot and Ready. LC is Michigan soulfood in my opinion...

I agree its not the perfect food for the car, but wolfed down between classes, it will keep you alive in West Central Michigan in the middle of winter.

Did anyone use the spice packets that came in the box?

wobbly / mcgs999, that's one of the reasons I have leather. Just about anything you spill on it, wipes right up.

As far as Little Caesars goes - There's a lot better pizza out there, but none give you the same bang for the buck. I miss having one around.

"As far as Little Caesars goes - There's a lot better pizza out there, but none give you the same bang for the buck"

Agreed. The slogan should be...

"... but it's better then Mcdonalds"

I suppose if I had a collector car or show car I would have a no food rule but I don't. Family cars (and pick ups) are meant for real life and food is a part of that.

We went to the drive in last week and my car still smells like popcorn and fries. Nothing wrong with that.

I can't believe people complain about a photo of two guys eating pizza in the truck.

Josh review of Little Ceasers Pizza performance:

Acceleration Comments: There doesn't seem to be any "magic launch" to get this pizza in my mouth. Moderate pizza pizza is quicker than dominoes.

Braking Comments: Some breadstick, some greasy feeling, lots of stink but no fade.

Handling Comments:

Skidpad: Marginally receptive to slice folding at limits, but always kept in check by pepperoni.

Slalom: Why can't I disable topping control on this Sport Compact pizza? Silly. Just silly. And it does consumption speeds no favors.

"Does this truck have a column shift lever? If so, why does it have a full console?"

No it does not. You can clearly see the P R N D right there on the floor. 6 passenger seating is optional on Rams and Dakota's. The cooled seat option is only on the 5 passenger setup.
