I want a mural of GW standing next to the Challenger with the waving American flag for my living room.

This is a funny ad so as you don't think too hard about it.
Now if they could have only added a Viper and a 1 ton pick up.

I have to admit, I laughed at the image of Washington charging the redcoats in a Challenger. The schmaltzy voice-over at the end kind of ruined it, though.

"...a European-owned car company with a commercial about the American's beating the Redcoats..."
Jaguar - american now indian owned car company sold in british racing green
Mini - german owned company with a british flag on the top
The car is an american icon and has nothing to do with present ownership

"here's a couple of things America got right: Cars and Freedom"
So I am guessing Chrysler is saying the Nitro, Compass, Caliber, PT Cruiser, Intrepid, Charger, 300, Grand Caravan, Town and Country, Commander, Patriot,.... the list goes on were quote on quote "right".
Chrysler, you have a few more years, a few more billion dollars you need to give back to the American Taxpayer, and a few more models you need to obliterate before you can start saying America got cars "right".

America, F@ck Yeah!
Insert the soundtrack to Team America: World Police and you have a commercial.
And how could they miss the opportunity to have a red, white and blue Challenger driving the Brits back?

This commercial is one of the best car commercials to come along in a long time, at least for entertainment value. It says nothing about the brand or the company, but it just looks awesome and makes anyone with a sense of humor laugh.
Good job, Dodge marketing department!!!

This is disgustingly inaccurate.
I'm sure Washington drove the General Lee, not a Challenger!
Or at least, he does in my head.

This commercial is amazing... it is exactly what the car manufacturers need... I've heard enough about features... I want to see the cars I could buy being awesome... this ad does exactly that... the only other ad I can think of that grabs my attention is the audi "truth in engineering" ad that bashes ferrari, bmw, lexus, and mercedes... I honestly cannot remember any other auto ad from any manufacturer....

What a stupid redneck piece of crap for advertising, sorry I hated it. I'm proud of this country and what it can do but this was just horribly bad. I'm embarrassed this even exists.
"Jaguar - american now indian owned car company sold in british racing green
Mini - german owned company with a british flag on the top"
BRG is an actual color. Why would they rename it Indian Racing Green? That would make no sense. Minis can be ordered with numerous different flags for the roof and the mirror caps. It represents the owner's taste, not the car per se. The British flag used in its marketing represents its heritage, just like how the incorrectly dated American flag in this commercial is used on the Challenger... even though its engine is built in Mexico, itself is assembled in Canada, its bones designed in Germany, most of its components sourced from Taiwan, China, Japan and other parts of Asia, and its parent company resides in Italy.
In this era of the world car in a global economy, this sort of stupid reeks of small-minded ego centrism. Especially when so many American cars in recent years have been mediocre at best - including most of Chrysler's present lineup. Witty, funny, even risque ads are fine as long as they don't make fools out of themselves or act disingenuously towards the viewer. This does both of the latter.

Well based on how many comments this has vs the usual articles, id say its an effective add because its unique. BUT, i think this would have worked better as a Jeep GC commercial; off roading challenger...eh. But i liked it.
lostboyz says:
04:56 AM, 06/16/10
bimmerjay, yes I am saying cars hold their heritage regardless of where they are made or who owns them. Its an american car by badge, looks, and personality. The commercial is funny and came at a good time for the world cup.
