2010 Chevy Traverse: Can handle small dogs

dog traverse.jpg
This is a cheap excuse to show a picture of a cute dog I hang out with. The dog, some manner of Boston terrier / Chihuahua / Australian Shepherd / ??? mix doesn't ride back there, but this should illustrate both that the Traverse has a lot of space and that this dog is fewer than 116.4 cubic feet. What it does not show is that the dog is terrified of the automatic tailgate-- which I'm a big fan of.

Follow the jump for a pretty pointless video of same dog jumping into the 2010 Chevy Traverse!

Put the dog in a car, and absolutely you can!

I propose that IL make this a regular column, or at least some variant of it. For example, start with the http://www.stuffonmycat.com/ idea, but fill a given LT vehicle with as much cargo as possible while still being able to fit this dog which we'll use as the basis for all measurements. These features should be included in all reviews. "The 2009 S5 can hold Spot plus four standard size paper grocery bags, 3 six packs and one pair of size 12 Converse."

I'd like to see a picture of adults seated in the third row.

Even more fun would be a video of adults getting into and out of the third row seats.

That would cheer me up.

There was a Top Gear episode a while back with a segment featuring cheap sub-compacts/city cars. One of the challenges was to fit a large dog in the car and drive a lap around the track without making it sick. I think that should be the template for any further LT blog pet-friendliness testing.

Horrified of the automatic tailgate or not I sure hope that the dog doesn't pee in there.

Judging from the photo above, it seems that the dog either has a bad hair day...

banhugh says:

... or someone tried to impose a surf messy hair look on their dog

Dig the way the dog almost floats/levitates as it crosses over the bumper...almost looks like a video splice job was done.

How exactly do you "hang out" with a dog?
