In my weekend with the Insight, I was reminded of how badly Honda's nav/audio interface needs an upgrade. Honda's interface isn't that bad -- to its credit, it's got an intuitive layout and is easy to use.
But when compared to the interfaces offered by other manufacturers competing in this price range, it comes off as being a bit behind the curve. I'm not a fan of all those smallish buttons, and the interface doesn't look properly integrated into the center stack. What do you think?

So, they have a large LCD screen & this is the best they could come up with? White Text on BLUE background (as in 80s TV menus), faux-metal onscreen buttons? And why couldn't they use some other CLEAR fonts rather than these Comic-Sans type fonts??
What the hell is going on at Honda/Acura design department?

Acura has a very good nav system, with a very high res screen, its one of the nicest systems in existance. So this is clearly an instance of cost cutting and/or brand differentiation, they can do it, but don't want to in an econobox.

Its the EXACT same nav system I had in my 06 Civic Si. C'mon Honda, its been 4 years. Upgrade that beast!

Honda Nav interfaces are wretched all the way up to the Acuras.
But as the saying goes these days- if it's cheap and junky it's made by Honda.

Honda and Acura use very similar nav interface. Its dated across the board. Needs more resolution, crisper graphics and the ability to display more info concurrently like the competition. Nav systems in the Insight and fit look aftermarket in the dash.
