Back in October I noted that our eco score - the cumulative measure of how economical our driving habits are - was merely average. Last night, as I pulled into my driveway, I was pleased to see that we've improved to almost a perfect score. We're now at four-and-a-half flowers out of five. Sure, I know, not terribly exciting, but in a eco-car, you gotta make the most out of anything even remotely interesting.

Yawn. My screen would be a pic of a tumbleweed scrolling acrossed it!

@zoomzoomn: I think this car actually discourages fast driving. It's simply no fun to drive it fast. Sort of like my mother's old Taurus.

I do admit, trying to max out stuff like that can be addicting. Heck, sometimes I leave my car's computer showing overall fuel economy and try to see how high I can push the long term average over a single trip. When you have an otherwise boring car, these things help. I'm sure they will also contribute to many many accidents.

You'll bore of the ECO-Score screen fairly quickly.
I only consciously check two ECO-related metrics - The MPG screen on the multi-function display (in the middle of the tachometer) and the speedometer backlighting. The rest is just bling, that you can shut off or ignore. Typically, the ECO score screen is not visible when driving, and I only see it momentarily after the car is shut down, key removed and the vehicle parked.
Ultimately, you only need the speedometer backlight to learn to "drive green" with the Insight. That simple feedback is valuable, and every car should have it. Easy way to pick up 2-4mpg without effort.

@mheikka
I like the idea any car or truck teaching you how to drive green it would specially be good with trucks.

It would be better if it gave actual numerical values instead of flowers. Like a score or something. Flowers don't really mean anything.
