One thing I remember about our long-term 2008 Honda Accord was that some editors didn't find the front seats very comfortable. So I'm pleased to see that our new Accord Crosstour has already been used for a few long-distance trips without complaint. Dan in fact commented favorably on the seats for his drive to Arizona. Comparing pictures of the long-term Accord's seats and the Crosstour's, it looks like at least the leather stitching is a little different, so perhaps Honda made some minor padding and contouring adjustments as well.
I never had a problem with our long-term Accord's driver seat, so I'm not surprised that I like our Crosstour's, too. Even after multi-hour stints, the seat has remained comfortable.

The seats look identical to me!
Here is a shot of a 2008 Accord front seat.

Wow, you have been pretty negative about the Honda. It's good to know that they did something right! They will probably sell more Crosstours than they would have otherwise.

I think these Crosstours are selling pretty well. I've seen several on the roads around Seattle with people happily driving them.
Interior looks pretty nice from that angle, except for the typical Honda plastic wood.

lmbvette - there is vertical stitching on the Crosstour that is not on the Accord, but, other than that, not much difference . . .

I don't know this for certain in anyway, but I've seen automakers change the density and setup of seats mid-cycle when complaints arise, with no notable change to the exterior of the seat stitching/setup. Maybe they did that?

looks like the driver's left side bolster is wearing out and already beginning to shine.

Now that is a mature screen name.

BS about the seats. They are identical to the Accord. So you have to decide. Either you were wrong about how bad the Accords seats are or you are wrong about how good the Crosstour seats are. The stitching argument is priceless though...

I've seen quite a few of them considering they just came out. On 1st impressions they seem to be outselling the Versa. They've been out a lot longer and I've only seen a couple of them.

brain fade on my part. I meant Vensa, not Versa.

@banhugh: Ya' think? A padding change (foam density, support springs) wouldn't be visible from the outside, but such alterations can change the feel a lot. Manufacturers do pay attention to things like JD Power IQS surveys and media write-ups, and they do make midstream changes in response to them, especially if changes to the component affects no other part or subsystem in the car.
Are these seats different from the '08 Accord? Only a back-to-back comparison on the same day could confirm it. Comparisons made to two-year old memories are invalid. Quick, someone dash down to their local Honda dealer for a sit-off! Seat comfort is highly personal and the only opinion that matters is the one attached to the posterior that will be sitting in it for the next 4 years.

Why the next 4 years?

"Why the next 4 years?"
4 years is the average length of time someone keeps a new car.

I finally saw a Crosstour while on a trip this weekend. It was a black one and actually did not look that bad with the exception of two drawbacks: the overdone front grill and the ride height. My wife even complimented positively on it until she saw the front end. On the ride height, it's just kind of weird that it rides so high. It would be different if it was more wagon-like, I guess. I think that if Honda would restyle the front end and add a lower model with cloth interior and FWD for around $25,000 that it would likely broaden the car's appeal.

@banhugh - so you're saying you have some type of super-secret x ray vision that can see through the seat leather in the photo and can mentally analyze the foam density and spring rates in the seats?
wow. you're batman!

is anyone else sick of the Edmund's InsideLine not updating these blogs for days its very disappointing they used to update all the time, now it is rare to see an update even every three days apart (or more like every 2weeks) I WISH THEY WOULD UPDATE THEIR BLOGS MORE even if its about something simple like the exhaust smell or something i miss reading them every other day if not every day.
