Maybe it's the white paint, maybe it's the white LED light, but the puddle lamps on the 2009 BMW M3 Sedan are very effective.
See what I mean?
By the way, the right-rear rattle is gone.

The rattle will be back...bwa ha ha ha. That's the nature of rattles. They let you get all complacent and happy while you're driving to work with the radio off, enjoying the rattle-free silence, then BAM!, there it is.
Puddle lamps are a nice feature, and something you most likely won't even notice until you've bought the car and brought it home. While our 2002 Taurus was not the most inspiring vehicle the puddle lamps were a thoughtful touch.

Que the "well for $70 G's I would hope...." comments. I agree though, thoughtful feature.

I didn't even know what a puddle lamp was before this post. Interesting feature, do most modern luxury cars have this??

BMW's puddle lamps are very very nice, even with non white paint. I miss them.

there are similar lights on my 135 and they catch the metallic paint on the sedona red finish. it looks so attractive, I never even look down to see if I am standing in a puddle...

The 2004 A4 that I have has lights on the bottom of the door that lights up the ground when it is open and find it fairly useful if there isn't any other lighting around (say a timer isn't reset after time change).
It's interesting to see the light coming from the door handles.

I seem to remember a Flex I rented having them. Can anyone verify this?

More cars should have door handle LED ground illumination. It's such a no-brainer, not overly expensive, and adds a nice premium touch. I expect Hyundai to have it very soon on the Genesis, if they don't already.
