Oh yeah, the BMW 750i also has a heated steering wheel. Of course, it does. I'm surprised it doesn't have a latte machine in the dash.
Heated steering wheels are a feature I never paid attention to before I tried it in our Dodge Ram. Now, it's my new favorite thing. The BMW 750i's heated steering wheel is subtler than the Ram's but still cozy.
I was on the road early this morning and really wanted to pull over, rest my face on the steering wheel and take a nap.
Do you think heated seats and steering wheels would put you to sleep on a long road trip?

If you were that tired, maybe you should have taken a nap or stayed in bed longer =].
Seriously though, one of my friends almost died because he was finishing up a paper and pulled two late nights in a row, and then drove in to school to turn it in. Be careful with that heated steering wheel of yours.

I love heated seats and I can see the need for a heated steering wheel in a cold climate. The heated seats help soothe my aching back after a tough workout, which makes me more comfortable, but they don't put me to sleep.

I had one of them on my BMW X3 Loaner a year or two back. I feel like it's one of those features you use because they're there. It's like, you payed your money for it, why not use it.
However, I feel that overtime it would become a necessity. Kind of like a backup camera. I got one on my current car because it was part of a certain package I wanted thinking the camera would just be there, and I would rarely use it. I've grown to love it, and I can't imagine buying a car without it (4 Months down the road).
Would a heated steering wheel or a heated seat put me to sleep on a long road-trip? NO. I tried the heated seat all road-trip from Baltimore, MD to Pittsburgh, PA (4 Hours), and it became painful when I got out of my car. I think it just pointed out how tense my back is, rather than alleviating the pain. However, i did have it on Level 6 (out of 6 Levels) all through the ride.

I wonder if the heated steering wheel could have a petrie dish effect? Make the little germies grow.

Donna, how would you survive in colder climates?

@adamb1: Ew. I didn't think of that. I am definitely never putting my face on the steering wheel.
@carguy622: I used to be an East Coaster. But since I've moved West I've become a sugar plum (as my Mom would say).

I would totally option this for my wife's car - should love it on cold mornings in Seattle!

My wife's last two Bimmers have had this feature; it is nice on cold mornings. Too bad it's not available on the sport and BMW Performance wheels.

No I don't think it would put me to sleep. My car's massage seats on the other hand, well that's a different story entirely. :)
My car actually had an optional heated steering wheel, but I opted for the wood/leather wrapped wheel instead. Let's face it, I live in San Jose and most of the time I would prefer a cooled-steering wheel!

No, sleeping while driving a car is not an idea my brain admits.
So, if I feel I`m sleeping or too tired to drive, I`ll do something about it first.
My hands would admit a heated steering wheel thou!

Donna, how about a chart showing all the vehicles in your test fleet and which have heated driver's, front passenger's, rear passengers' seats, and heated steering wheel?
I've never had any of them, but they're not all that necessary in Central Florida. They would be nice for about 3 weeks out of the year, though.

Still not available on the ///M wheels but it is on the Sport wheels now.

Hey, how about how you can spend $50k on a 3 series and still not have heated seats????
