2010 Volvo XC60: Fits All Sizes

volvo-xc60-garage-1600.jpg

Because of holiday travel, I haven't been in one of our long-term cars in a while. It was a pleasure to slip into the Volvo XC60 last night.

Scott had been in it before me and as usual I had to move the seat forward a bunch to fit my lack of height. Then I adjusted the steering wheel for a good grip, the mirrors for a good view, the radio to my tastes.

No matter who gets into the Volvo XC60, they can find a driving position to suit them and still be able to reach all the features around them.

I can't say the same for the Ford Flex. I like the Flex and appreciate its many good points, but I can't reach anything inside its cavernous interior, no matter how I adjust my seat.

Somehow, the Volvo manages to be one size fits all.

I know this isn't related, but the moment i saw that garage i was reminded of a wagon or SUV that was backed into the low mounted air duct against the wall and its rear window shattered. Maybe a year back? Was it in fact on this blog, in that garage? Or am i just screwy?

I would love to drive different cars everyday like you guys, but the seating position would drive me crazy.

Whenever I lend my car off to someone (rare), if I adjust the seat to the original position with the memory, it still feels wrong.

@ prndlol: I don't remember that. I'll ask around.

@adavis2493: You get used to it. Funny thing is, when I got into my own car again, it felt so strange.

prndlol, that was the Rondo.

Donna, didn't the 2010 Flex add a telescoping steering column? Have you done a test-sit in one?

Looks like the Volvo is the only one that fits in a single parking spot too.

bradyholt, thank you- how in the world did you find it? I'm very surprised the post was close to two years ago now.

I remembered which car it was, which made it easy. I just clicked on the "2007 Kia Rondo" category on the right-hand column of the blog and scanned the few dozen entries for that one.
