Were you at a dealership? I don't see any plates. Buying a Mitsubishi?

Looks like the Fit "fits" into parking spots a lot better then the Mitsus.
Long noses just get in the way.

Hmm, It's that Eclipse in the background! It's the only one without a hatch!

The American Fit is the long-nose model. Europe and Japan have even less up front. Compare photos:

It's called packaging efficiency or the passenger compartment as a crumple zone, depending on which side of the coin you choose to see.

What you're all forgetting is that all of the Lancers there look much better proportioned front to back when viewed straight on from the side. The overhang on the front is balanced by an overhang on the back that is pretty much the same. The Fit, on the other hand, has almost no overhang on the rear, and by comparison a huge overhang on the front. The Fit looks the most odd when viewed straight from the side.

Yeah, lancers quite good looking cars.

We are also forgetting that the Fit has it's windshield at a much great angle which pushes the base of the windshield further which makes the front end visually shorter.
Do a side view comparison and you will find the Mitsu is better proportioned.

Shoot, the 1.5L engine could fit in my backpack... doesnt' take up much space, and there is still plenty of room in the nose.
