2009 Dodge Challenger R/T: Maintenance Reminder and Startup

Note the chime, the extended display and the two-stage reminder system. The 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T does maintenance reminding well.

Oh, right, it's in for service for this and the key fob. Will post results next week.

What a cool display! I love the Rams head. Oh and that is what a GT car is supposed to sound like! Not a broken Hoover like the Z or the wheezy sound of the Camaro......and of course the gauges are about a zillion times better than the Camaro . Clear and easy to read with no weird bling. Is the tranny being looked at as well??

I'm thinking that there is someway to turn all that off so I don't have a service reminder light come on every time I start the car right?

Yesterday (01/19/2010) I got an oil and filter change at the dealer for my R/T ($28 with coupon). Previously I had noted that when oil level was full the dipstick reads 1/2 quart low but still within acceptable oil level range. The problem is that when oil level goes down 1/2 quart someone might add a quart and then the engine is 1/2 quart overfilled.

After the oil change I brought this to a service guy's attention and after some discussion he said they could order another dipstick, which might or might not read correctly. I declined (for now) but after some later reflection thought the problem might be caused by the dipstick tube being too long. and not from having an incorrect dipstick from some Dodge Caravan or something.

Yeah - the old Chrysler quality or lack of quality issues come up. Anybody else see this with the 5.7 Hemi? My thought is to cut the dipstick tube down 3/8 of an inch and call it a day on this.
