I really wanted to do a video of our 2009 Mini E driving around L.A. but saw that BMW Car Magazine already had a really nice one up on YouTube. There's no way I could have done a better job with my lil' FlipVideo Cam and no police escort around the city.
Anyway, I think this video does a beautiful job of showing just how quiet the Mini E is on the road. There's some quick footage of the interior and its silence as well.

Nice, but since you've driven the car you have to admit that it isn't quite as quiet as the video suggests. The regenerative braking will make a "whine" that isn't heard much in the video and it is the most distinguishable noise that the car ever makes so it should be in the video. Perhaps if they recorded more from inside the cabin you would hear it because the outside shots were from a good distance away from the car.

I LOVE that whine. :) And the other sounds it does make. But it definitely isn't as "noisy" as conventional cars.

It's nice to see they had at least one showing of acceleration.
Otherwise, it was all cruising at a constant speed. A lot of cars are dead quiet at a constant speed.

Actually I was looking for a video on the car and came across it on YouTube. OK, really I was watching the video of the puppy who couldn't get up and then came across that video on YouTube.
