Today marks the sixth day in a row that I've been driving our long-term 2009 Mazda 6 i Grand Touring. Six days! Short of taking a real road trip, that's about four days longer than you can ever hope to spend driving one long-term test car.
And it's especially nice when it's a car you would choose for your very own.
That's how I feel about the Mazda 6. It's spacious, comfortable, and has all the features I would require when putting down my own hard-earned money.
It's not that I don't loooooove the BMW M3, but with a base price of just over $26K, the Mazda is a car I could actually afford to buy.

Kelly,
I agree with you. That's why I own a 2007 Mazda 6i 5-door. It meets all my needs with style and it is not like all the others on the road. When I need a new one the Mazda 6 will be my first choice. But watch out for the new Sonata.

Well the Hyundai's class leading fuel economies are tempting... as oppose to the Mazda's bottom of class mpgs...

I actually enjoy my '04 Mz6i more than my '09 G37x sedan, even though the power difference is huge. With 92k miles of punishing Bostonian pothole-ridden roads, it still feels pretty solid with only an occasional rattle and sqeek. compared to the Corolla-like boring drive of the otherwise-nice Sonata, i'd take a mpg penalty (even if acceleration still sucked and did not justify the fuel consumption).
For me, as long as the driving range is decent (i.e., at least 400 miles before the low fuel light comes on), I am happy. i guess it's just how you prioritize things.

I agree with DLu and as I forget to say earlier, like Kelly said at a price $24-26,000 with all the goodies I need, plus the utility of my 5-door, why pay more.
