The Ram seems even more portly when driving around densely populated areas. I'm especially nervous when driving in parking lots/garages.
Here in Santa Monica, they have large parking garages for the shoppers. I was pulling out of one garage to the street, but it's the kind of garage where you can't see the pedestrians on the sidewalks. I approached with great caution, looking into the convex mirrors for signs of people outside.
Just as I got my nose out onto the sidewalk a group of young guys walks right out in front of me. I nearly crush one guy and his saucer wide eyes reflect his similarly felt sentiments. He looks up at me, I can read his lips as he says: "Nice truck, dude." He gives me an enthusiastic thumbs up, then walks off down the street.
I wish I could be so enthusiastic after a near death experience.

You would rather he showed you a different finger and yell at you?

It's just something that you get use too driving it everyday. I had no issues with my previous Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 driving it in Denver and other big cities.

He could have been talking about another truck behind him that was reflecting off the miles of chrome the truck wears on it's grille. At least the last thing he’d see would be his own reaction.
Also truck rhymes with a famous word and sarcasm is far from dead.
I agree the new Ram looks good, I especially admirer the front lights. But it just resembles the old model too much. Chevrolet 1500 and the Nissan Titan are the best looking trucks in my opinion (above all when customized).

Scott, is the horn broken?
When exiting parking garages where pedestrians might not be able to see me or I them, a short beep let's them know I'm coming without scaring the crap out of them.

in Boston, garage spaces are so freaking small, most SUV drivers take 2 spots. visibility otherwise around garage exits and street corners are extremely poor because of obstructing structures (damn Boston needs a second level built on top of the existing clutter!!!). i guess people are used to it and adjust somehow. i cannot. that's why i moved out.

If I nearly got run over by a vehicle, the first thing I'd be thinking to myself would not be, "what a nice truck! I should tell the owner."
BTW, nice eye candy. :-)

"He looks up at me, I can read his lips as he says: "Nice truck, dude." He gives me an enthusiastic thumbs up, then walks off down the street."
Translation: "If you had hit me, your truck (and everything you own) would be MINE!"
-assuming the injury lawyer didn't get it first.

This post's title is a bait & switch technique. Can we hear more about the truck?

Enough with the "I can't drive" blogs.....if you can't drive the vehicle safely, just say no.

Once again this proves that in big cities driving a full size truck is only for the elite drivers. Ex: The Stig.
