People say they think the Honda Insight is ugly until they see it in person. I don't think it's a bad looking car.
Hopefully, this video will help you see it in a better light.
Sorry it's so shaky.

I think that the exterior is ok given it's duty in life. It's almost attractively sleek from a number of angles. The interior is another story, though. The lack of flow in the dash layout is utterly amazing. It's like some 6 year old was assigned interior design duties.

I saw my first Insight yesterday, a silver one and it looked like it was keeping up with fast traffic pretty good. Didn't look too bad I have to say.

After putting a hitch on one these at work I have say on the outside its bland nothing really eye catching or to make stand out from the crowd or even just the Prius. Interior design was just Fail IMHO.

It's not ugly at all...certainly more sleek and better looking than the bubbly Prius.

The exterior is ok. The interior, like zoomzoom and hybris said, is like someone vomited on a piece of paper and said, "Hmm, that looks pretty good! I'll use that." It has so many disharmonious elements that it just makes my skin crawl. How can the climate controls be ergonomic and efficient? I would need actual quality sit-down time with my car to figure out how to turn the A/C on. I would have a fit in this car.
Now that I mention it, all Honda interiors are egregiously ugly to look at, inefficient to interact with and unnecessarily button intensive.
Ok, hyperbole session over. Bottom line...I'm not buying one.

You just couldn't resist posting a video could you?
I actually really like the way this car looks. The details Honda uses really makes the exterior. And color you guys picked is sooooo pretty.

Nope, still ugly.
The reason why it's so ugly is because it's a wannabe Prius and trying to copy the Prius automatically makes you ugly..

Sorry D, the car is ugly. Hella ugly. It's empirical, this isn't a matter of taste. It's on the ugly list like the Aztek, Ridgeline, all current Acuras, Crosstour, Sandra Bernhard, and the Experience Music Project in Seattle.

I have to admit that I do like the front of the Insight. It looks like a concept version of the current Civic. However, the rest of the car is about as ugly as a Pug's ass. The rear doors especially. And don't get me started on the interior (please).
Here's what I don't get about some of the comments about it, though: will someone please tell me how the look of the Insight copies the Prius in any way? And no, the fact that they both have a Kammback doesn't count.

Ok.
How many Hybrids have this shape?
Which one had it for over 5 years?
Which hybrid is the Insight targeting? Which one is direct competition?
