Monday is Veterans Day, so I'm packing the family (two adults and one 3-year-old) into the Insight for a long holiday weekend up California's coast. Staying one night in Morro Bay and the rest in Berkeley, with at least one day trip into San Francisco planned. That means I've got approximately 800 miles to see how the little hybrid handles elevation gains, lots of kid-related luggage and bony rears. I'll give you the whole story when I get back next week.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like you're in for a really, really bad road trip. :(

Depending on where you are or who you work for, they'll "observe" the holiday on a Monday to give their folks 3 day weekends.

You will regret not taking the Flex, or the Ram, or 750, or even the Challenger.

Hey, at least the experience will give him a little...um... insight.

I'm glad he's taking the Insight. Not because I would buy one but because his write up at the end will be more interesting then if he had taken the Flex or BMW.
We all know already that a Flex or a 7 series BMW whould be a great road trip choice.
Let's see how the underdog does.

It's always fun to hear what it's like to take a vehicle and do something with it that tests its muscles some. In this case take a city car, pack it with people and luggage, and drive 800 miles. If anything it'll test its durability (hybrid powertain amongst other components).
