We all know the 2010 Honda Insight has fold-down seats and can carry loads of cargo.
This weekend I went to the supermarket and piled my bags into the back. Even though this car does not have a power-operated rear hatch, it is easy to close.
I'm not very tall but I have no problem reaching the top of the open door to pull it shut. I also appreciate that the door is light and I don't have to struggle to swoop it down.
I'm starting to like this car more and more.

that is the cheapest, crappiest lining they could've possibly furnished that with.

I would say it looks pretty decently lined based on pictures.
Anyhoo - as far as ease of use in lowering the hatch. I always wondered why people complained about this......until the rental Ford Explorer I had over the weekend. As an average sized male (5'10 150lbs) with decent strength I must admit it was an absolute chore to close the hatch.

...even though it doesn't have a power operated hatch? What? Is that even an issue? I think I would consider the cost and weight of a power hatch on such a small, light, economy-minded car to be a negative not a positive.

You could be describing any hatchback. There's nothing special about the Insight's cargo capacity, especially for the price.
