For the past couple months or so every time I bring a car home and park it on the street, there are, what I like to call, little effers who mess with the passenger side mirror of those cars. These strangers who apparently have nothing better to do with their time will either fold the entire mirror in or press the mirror glass itself angling it outward. And it's not like they do it because there isn't enough room on the sidewalk. There's plenty. And naturally I don't notice the tampered mirror until I'm on the road and have to look at it before switching lanes and then "D'oh!" If it's just a matter of moving the mirror glass with the power function then it's not a big deal. Annoying, but no harm done. But when the whole mirror is folded in? Can make for a dicey situation.
But last night I had our 2009 Infiniti FX50 with its handy-dandy folding mirrors and that's just what I did. Tucked those babies in. HA ha! Effers.

I also love this feature, Caroline. I have it programmed so my car automatically does it when I lock it, then when I touch the door handle to unlock the car they pop back out. It's great, I never have to worry about careless people anymore.

My A4 has the same feature. I love it. Plus I feel ultra cool at the car wash when I fold 'em in myself.

I've never had anyone mess with my mirrors. I've never even heard of anyone messing with the mirrors of anyone I know.
What's wrong with pedestrians in CA?

Can you still have the Around-View cameras on while the mirrors are folded in?

My 1995 Honda Civic EX sedan has the same feature although the mirrors, the button and associated wiring are from a JDM 1995 Honda Civic Ferio. However, I do like this feature and wished it was offered on current lower end models.

That would make me tempted to sit out in the bushes with a pellet gun and when the "effer" came along and touched my car... POP! Maybe a paintball gun would be better. Less risk of broken skin, but still guaranteed pain.

@altimadude00: It doesnt really work, because the side cameras are not in the position that they are supposed to be, hence you get a video feed where the 2 side images are not perfectly aligned.
Also what I think sucks about the FX50s folding mirrors is that you have to fold them manually using a switch. They dont fold automatically when you put the car in P or lock the doors.

It really isn't that difficult to push a button when you park.
