I'm not sure what's more shocking, the fact that our long-term 2009 BMW 750i blew through the 20,000-mile mark today or how disgustingly dusty its gauges are.

I love the gauges on the 7, dust notwithstanding. They're so crisp, clean, and elegant. Beautifully legible, just like the information screen overlay. No blue or orange crap, excessive chrome or other unnecessary distractions. I wish that panel would make its way down the range (although it's hard to beat the M3's dials).

20K already? It seems like the introduction was just yesterday. God I'm getting old.

I guess I do a lot more driving than most, because I think 9 months to put 20,000 miles on a car isn't that surprising. Especially when you consider a whole staff of people taking a car on road-trip after road-trip, which has been the case for the 7.

I have always liked BMW gauges... simple, easy to read and never over the top. Some cars could take a lesson on how to do gauges right. Camaro, I'm lookin' at you!

i think the 20k mark coming so soon says something about the 750i. there are so many complaints about the car yet it appears to be the most driven car in the fleet
