Ever hear the story of the Princess and the Pea? Prince's mother hides a pea under a mattress, stacks many more mattresses on top, and still the Princess is sooooo delicate, she can feel the pea underneath, bruising her back while she's trying to get her royal beauty sleep?
Yeah, that's not me.
But that's exactly how I feel about our 2009 Mazda 6's seatbacks. I like the shape of the seat, lateral support, bolstering, even the quality of the leather, but for some reason, the feel of the three vertical seams in the seatback annoys me, no matter what I'm wearing.
No, I haven't tried driving with a parka on yet (this is Southern California, folks, I'm not planning on donning one anytime soon), but I'm not wearing a backless evening gown to work, either.
A couple of miles down the road in the Mazda 6, I start fantasizing about sheepskin seatcovers.
Does that make me a Princess, or just a big, ol' whiny baby?

The problem in the Prius id the seat is sloped back to aggressively putting your head to far away from the restraint.

No--that's a perfectly valid complaint. Just like some leather-wrapped steering wheels with the stitches in the wrong place/stitches too rough. It's the sort of niggle that you never get used to.

ya sometimes the leather seat stitching can be too rough, you'd prefer them not to have stitching because the stitches are so hard and abrasive.

If all that bothers you about the car is the three seams on the back of the seats, I'd say its a pretty good car, right?
Of course, every day you drive it, you'll be bothered by those seams...

I agree with Subaru 123 regarding headrests. I rent a car every week and the worst cars have headrests that push my head too far forward. That is a complete deal breaker.

Its not a nitpick if it bothers you. Its a part of the vehicle you touch every single time you're in it, so you need to be comfortable. Its not necessarily a design issue, unless others have the problem too.

This whole discussion seems unseemly to me......call me a pea brain.
