2009 Dodge Challenger R/T: Look Again

car-of-the-week-717.jpg2009_challenger_front_dodge_ot_9998_102609.jpg

Our Dodge Challenger's number is up again. It's getting another turn as car of the week.

You know, one of the best parts of Inside Line's redesign, IMHO, is the photo galleries feature.

Go back to the Introduction of the Dodge Challenger and look at all the photos in full-screen mode. Follow this link. You won't be disappointed.

The pics are good and the galleries are great.

But Edit buttons are far more useful. :)

The slideshow function is kind of wonky on Macs, FYI. It works fine on my work PC but my laptop wants to kill itself whenever I try to view one

The gallery is pretty cool and the black paint almost obscures the desperate look of the Challenger. Almost.

I like the new version but it needs work, especially on road test reviews. It's very clunky and you'd have to scroll to the next set of photos to check them out instead of simply putting in a "Next" or "Previous" button in the main photo viewer itself for a much faster and smoother viewing experience. Even if I went full screen to make these buttons appear, I can't read the captions. I like reading the captions as I'm viewing the photos. If they would put the buttons in the main viewer or make the captions appear in full screen mode, I would change my tune about this. But as it stands now, I kinda prefer the previous version. Unless I missed an option to turn these features on somewhere? I'd be happy to be wrong about this.

The full screen function is awesome with the hi res pictures! Love it! And the Challenger looks so awesome......it soooo puts the dorky Camaro to shame.

Love the look, hate how it was layed out inside. Retro should blend the good of the old with the good of the new. I feel the Camaro is closer to this than anything else (even with the issues it has).

Anyways ill enjoy the background. Any chance you guys will comment on how Chrysler's water based paints are holding up?

Next car up should be the G8 GT, it leaves soon and well from the reviews thus far is more liked overall than the Challenger and Camaro.

I still prefer the old version, this one sucks too much, overengineering anybody? Too much bmw cool aid? LOL.

I had forgotten just how horrendous the interior of this car is until this post. No wonder 95% of the shots are of the gorgeous exterior.

The pictures are fine, but the user interface needs a bit of work.

My main complaint is that the next/previous buttons are WAY too large, and they are poorly positioned.

If you made them smaller and put them in the lower corners, rather than dead center on the sides, it would be MUCH better (i.e. same functionality without distracting so much from the picture).

Change the background to grey instead of blinding white on all the article/blog/home pages as well. The current scheme really hurts my eyes.

The interior is growing on me...especially in comparison to the hideous Camaro. The Dodge really needs some different colors (lighter ones).

Can you answer me, why is the top trim level of this car so expensive?

It's way more that the Camaro and Mustang.

It's just expensive period?
