2009 Dodge Ram 1500: Tree Trimmer

09_dodge_ram_trees3_555.jpg

This weekend our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 was on chore duty. Overgrown trees and shrubs scaled the wall and had to be cut back. A couple of passes with the trimmer and it was all over. The bed was full of clippings and the job done.

Sometimes I forget just how convenient it is to have a truck around.

I prefer to think that a lot of Harold Lloyd-esque pratfalls transpired between the first & second pictures. (Even if they didn't, I still prefer to think that way.)

People always preach on blogs how trucks make no sense for anyone, but try doing that in a Prius!

Trucks are great when you can use one only when you need it...but some people barely ever need one so they dont buy it

I miss having a truck.

Oddly enough this not the strangest way of using a truck bed but its up there.

And yes this why a truck is the ultimate vehicle you have cargo space and if equip the truck right you have passenger space as well in one vehicle that gets ok mileage.

I will admit that the half tons fall a little short because of the lack of 4door cab and 8 foot bed combo.

This kind of nonsense is why I have a 2002 Ranger laying around.

Sometimes you gotta move stuff places.

Is that a Bougainvillea? Those hedges are hell to trim with the deadly thorns on the branches! Even with the truck, they are not fun to tackle. I still miss my old 1957 Dodge Power Wagon pickup for these types of chores!

You never really realize that you miss having a truck until you have one and then you don't.

Besides the safety issues, that is super-awesome. Trimming the branches directly into your truck bed is full of win.

I do miss my Ram, except for when I had to fill the 20+ gallon gas tank with $4.00 per gallon gas.

I miss the quad cab. I could fold the rear seat bottoms up and slide my mountain bike in without having to disassemble it at all. That was the best. Now I have to deal with the roof rack on my A4. Buuuut, ill take the 25-32 mpg over 13-17.

That's quite the wall. What are you trying to keep out? (or in?)
