We got us some Mopar truck.
It's big. It's red. It has a heated steering wheel.
It carries stuff. It's comfy. And it's car of the week.
Yeehaw.

I saw a few over the weekend, I must say, this is one of the most attractive pickups on the market. I really like the rear end of it, especially when you get the dual mufflers.
Most pickup truck backs tend to be very boring, but the dual exhaust adds some more flare.

As I said in another blog post, simply the most attractive iteration of the Ram in a long time (ever). It actually looks even better in person. If I was in the market for a pickup, I'd have a hard time choosing between this, the Silverado and Tundra. This is coming from a guy who grew up with a Ford F-Series always in the driveway!

Easily the best-looking full-sizer on the road. If I had anything resembling a need for a beast like this, it's the only choice.

I agree, best looking fullsizer out there, but what's with the Eddie Bauer/1990s two-tone paint job?

With all the posts last week, I thought this was the car of the week then.

I've seen several new Rams driving around lately. It's a very slick looking truck. That said, a local dealer has a nice 2005 Ram SRT-10 on their lot. I only wish that I could concoct some reason why I need to add that vehicle to the fleet...

As above, if I needed a truck, this would be it. The two tone paint is ugly, but I dont mind the chrome. I would opt for a black or white sport though. I owned an 06 Ram when I had to tow something and that thing was bulletproof. Dodge has done nothing but improve on a great truck and they've turned it into a class leader. At least in the light duty category. They still need to add a smaller cummins turbo diesel option for the 1500 and this thing will be unbeatable.

There was going to be a light duty diesel version for MY 2011. Cummins was quite far along in the process. The bankruptcy killed it. The court allowed Chrysler to cancel the sourcing with Cummins. The plan going forward is to put a Fiat-sourced, Iveco diesel engine in the 1500. I think it's a big mistake.

Donna, you guys still never answered my question straight out of the Silverado commercial: "Would you rather have a Dodge Ram with a heated steering wheel or a Silverado with an EPA estimated 21 highway?

GM had a light duty diesel coming as well, for 2010. And they shelved that during their pre-bankruptcy period. I understand the factors involved, but it's still a big loss. A half ton diesel pickup would be great for boosting fuel mileage and preserving power, while maximizing torque, thereby enhancing its utility. I wonder if GM will be resurrecting that in the next year or two. They should.
