Although this doesn't qualify for a "Will it fit inside the Fit?" entry, it does show how the small Honda can make potentially awkward and back-straining tasks much less of a hassle. I recently had to transport new tires along with the wheels/old tires for my motorcycle to the shop to have them mounted.
With the Fit's rear seat flipped down, I could either slide them in through the hatch or the side doors. I tried both methods and they were both easy.
Had I just a subcompact sedan, I might've fit either the new tires or the wheels/tires in the trunk, but probably not both. It would've involved wrestling the buggers both into the trunk and the rear seat area, possibly aggravating my lower back and then requiring copious applications of Ben Gay.
Thanks to the cargo-friendly, hatchback Fit, my part of the office will not be filled with the scent of menthol and the wrinkled noses of my colleagues.

years ago I had a Mazda 323 hatchback, and I swear I could fit more stuff in it than any larger car I've owned since.

magic seats ftw!!!
the rearseat drop-in-to-the-floor thing is good and few other vehicles have that feature.
And the rear seat fold up standing thing is good!
Why don't all rearseats fold like this?

Where did you get the tyres fitted? Most shops aren't that happy to see you bringing in your own.
I use mctireworks in North Hills. Bring in the cheapest magazine ad you can find, and they'll match it +$10. They also only charge (last time I was there) $10 to mount with free balancing.

Desmo,
Got my motorbike's "tyres" mounted in a shoppe just outside London. J/K ;)
Actually bought the tires online, got a great deal @ motorcycle-superstore.com with free shipping. I had them mounted at West Coast GP cycles in West L.A. It was $22 each mounted and balanced versus $45 each if I had them dismount and mount the wheels.

Nice deal. My local Honda shop wants $40 to mount/balance and that is if I bring them the wheel off the bike!

All rear seats don't fold like this because Honda knows the special sauce to this recipe.
Or.. because it's really not needed in most types of vehicles(exclu minivans). How are you going to get the load floor this low in a crossover, sedan..?

I've been helping my girlfriend move over the past few days in my Mazda6 5-door and it's amazing how much stuff I can pack into that car, through the back or the rear doors. Hatchbacks are the way to go for me.
