Now, there's probably something in the fine print here that keeps us from actually winning the Honda Fit Photo Contest, but check out Honda's latest 2009 Honda Fit social networking / consumer content / PR gimmick game: What Can you Fit in the Fit. We're not sure we like being used as marketing pawns, but we are sure we love competition as much as we love trying to see how much crap we can fit into cars (see: Ford Flex, Ford Flex, and Audi A4 for a brief overview.)
According to the Ad, the Honda Fit has some 57 cubic feet of useable space that we're to fill with something and then take a picture which we'll upload to Facebook (someone will have to teach me how to use that thing) and then get votes.
We've got our own ideas (pumpkins, interns, thousands of mini Stigs), what say you Blogosphere? We've got the '09 Fit and some editors with sensational packing abilities. What do we jam it full of?

What else besides Styrofoam packing peanuts?
Maybe you could get Honda to try shoving a real air conditioner in there? :D
That's another idea - fill it with as many window A/C units as you can! :D

I second vwthing1, editors have said the greenhouse makes this thing crazy visible too, so why not make it a hondaquarium?
barring that, mini-stigs!

Smart Cars.

@brianknight: that was my first thought, as well.
Upon further reflection, though, I recommend ball bearings or marbles, as that would add weight as well and really test the storage capabilities. :)

Is it true that there is probably something in the fine print that keeps you from actually winning the Photo Contest? Is it also true that you're not sure you like being used as marketing pawns?
Is it correct that the Honda Fit has 57 cubic feet of usable space? I would really like to know if it is correct.
Finally, is it true that you have your own ideas and some editors with sensational packing abilities?

Why don't you just look it up.
It has 57.3 cu ft with the rear seats down.
20.6 with seats up.
111.4 total interior space.

Let's see, the Fit has 57 cubic feet of cargo space. Gee, that is a whopping 9 cubic feet less than an Escort wagon I had back in the 90's.
It gets no better gas mileage, has a smaller engine, and an A/C that can't quite keep the interior cold, plus it looks like a shrunken GM dustbuster minivan or a new Aveo.
And people are impressed by this vehicle?

I used to have a '93 Escort wagon. I now have a Fit. I am impressed by the Fit.
The Escort was a great little car for what it was. It hauled a lot of stuff, got great mileage, and with a stick it at least wasn't ridiculously slow (though it was with the air on). It was durable too for the most part except for a timing belt that went out.
Of course the Fit has less cargo space than the Escort--it's almost a foot shorter than the Escort was. It also handles far better, has a much peppier and quiet and flexible engine, a way better shifter feel, a more comfortable back seat, and not to mention a bunch of stuff like ABS and a hole slew of airbags (none of those things were on my Escort).
If I babied the Escort, in its prime it would get 33ish mpg around town, and it got up to about 39 or 40 on the highway a few times. So far with my Fit, which is still breaking in, I have easily been getting 36-37 mpg, and it'll do about the same on the highway.
