2008 Pontiac G8 GT: 10 Things I Like About You

Saw one on the road yesterday, and it was very striking. In red, too, which works quite well for it.

I like the way the tops of the front fenders swoops over the fender flares. An awesome look.

When viewed from the rear, that is.

Don't forget that intoxicating V8 sound.

Not to mention that when cruising @ 80 mph on the highway, you are only turning 2,000 rpm, plus the fact that you can make Prius's disappear with only half throttle within, oh, about 10 seconds, and less with a full push!

If I could justify the purchase right now, I'd have one in a heartbeat. When it first came out and I was reading the reviews, I'd always say "Maybe in a few years, my bridge loan to an M3". Too bad the general won't let it live that long...

I must be odd. I love the car, but I don't think it's very pretty.

Too many nostrils and a tail I can't distinguish from a Saab 9-5.

Love that V8, though.

I've got to agree with brn on this one too. I don't think it's ugly or anything like that but I saw one the other day and my first thought was "that's a nice Grand Prix".

I agree with brn ugly body but it has the 3 most important things in a car big engine, good suspension, powerful A/C

It's funny, I had been reading about the G8 for a long time before it came out, and in photographs there did appear to be a bit of Grand Prix-resemblance. But the first time I saw a G8 in person, I literally did not know what it was at first. The effect is subtle yet striking.

I would take one of these in a heartbeat if I were in the market for a sedan. Sadly I'm not, so goodbye forever, G8.

...Unless I can convince my dad to get one!

Great looking vehicle with lots of positives. If I needed something so large, I'd be knocking on Pontiac's door.

I think pretty much everything was covered. I'd only add built-in XM radio, but that's only on the '09s like mine. I guess we should thank the Australian outback for the great A/C in these cars. Everybody dogs on the A/C in BMWs, but my BMW A/Cs worked fine on my Texas car on 100+ degree days. The G8's is definitely better though. Oh, I'd also like to add the click wheel on the steering to mute the stereo. I use that all the time. I wish my BMWs had that.

+1 brn, I like them and think they are a great car, but whenever I see one they look too long and narrow, but they do stand out whenever I do see one.

Yeah, I think most everything is covered too. I'm very happy to see the love the G8 gets. Awesome.

I liked the 2008 orange color best; it complements my Speed Triple...:)

Agreed, especially at front quarter view.

How could you leave out the price? Every other car that can match the G8 GT's handling, power, and roominess is in a much higher price range.

Ha ha ha ha. No, I live in Kansas (: There aren't many around here, but there are quite a few in Wichita.

Not bad but no sale unless they make a two door. Just another typical performance sedan where I have to stare at the pillar when looking left.
