I know a lot of folks aren't really that into the looks of our FX. It's got big ol' wagon wheel sized rims, a funky face reminiscent of a catfish, bad visibility and terrible gas mileage. But I think for a lot of folks that's the point.
Well, maybe not for the terrible gas mileage, but the power and grunt you get out of that engine is worth it. That's is if you don't mind paying for it. I know I greatly appreciated it for the old Interstate 110 full stop highway entrances when there is a lot of fast moving traffic. An open space, a mash of the pedal and this thing roars to life.
It's luxury interior appointments let you know you're riding in style. You think it's got an ugly face? The Susan Boyle of the automotive world? It doesn't look like much else out there and that's a good thing in the Civic, Prius, and Camry crowded highways of Los Angeles.
I'm giving our FX50 two big thumbs up. Yay! for fuggly!

It doesn't look like anything else out there for sure... I'll give it that. Sometimes it does get boring out there in a sea of Accords, Corollas, and Impalas.

Honestly, if you get the SE Model of the Camry, it does not look half bad....
I liked the look of the Infiniti FX, until I was on vacation and 90% of the Rentals were brand new FX35's.
I can understand how people can think this car is ugly, but I noticed how some people say the S5 is ugly. How's that?

I like this FX, with its oversized wheels and the color, but for some reason I find all others to be kinda ugly. I saw a green-ish one the other day with the V6 - ugly. I've seen two of the pumpkin-copper colored ones in the past two days - one was a V8 and one was a V6. The V8 looked ok because the huge rims (which the pictures here don't do justice too) made up for the color. The V6 one, with its smaller wheels, was hideous. I rolled down my window in anticipation of losing my lunch.

I agree. Definitely good looking, and looks better than the Accord or Altima, IMO, esp. with the optional TRD wheels.

Plus, the V6 model will silently smoke a lot of cars on the road.

I've been a fan of the Infinity FX-line since its inception. If I could afford it, I'd love to own one.

The last FX was better looking, but you found a good angle on this one. Surely one of the better looking crossovers out there.

Want to drive an attractive vehicle that will stand out in LA? Drive an Impala!
Isn't there a quote somewhere that says: "Going to a ball with your fly down is different, that doesn't mean its attractive" or something like that?

Edmunds' car is particularly ugly because Edmunds got it in green (Umbria Twilight).
I mean, who buys a green colored car?
This FX would have been better received if Edmunds chose gray (Platinum Graphite), blue (Blue Slate), or black (Black Obsidian).
Motortrend got their long term FX50 in blue (Blue Slate), and Car and Driver got theirs in pearl white (Moonlight White). Both better on the eyes. As any car would.
I mean, Green??? Why did Edmunds elect to take the Green one?
Never choose a green car. Thank you.

Its ugly and has not grown on me. Its actually worse in person I think. That front grille is an abomination.

hey, I like green cars! ;)
I still prefer the last gen FX (maybe with the V6 and some mods from Stillen)... but this iteration will no doubt grow on me. I'd certainly take it.

@zoomzoom22 :
Are you kidding me? The Camry is a pretty ugly car. The front end of the car bears an um.. ugly resemblance to its owners.

We were talking about the Camry SE, which is arguably more attractive than the Accord.
See:

Now tell the me Camry SE is ugly....

I'll tell you the Camry SE is ugly. SE=lipstick Camry=pig.
Looking better than Accord? Yes, but there is a huge gap between Accord and attractive.
But, I suppose beauty is the eye of the beholder. I think the Altima is not even in the same league it is so much better looking than those.
Plain face, but the roofline and curvy fenders are sweet.
