When did our Honda Fit get so uncomfortable? Got in it last night and the seating position is terrible. Ok, maybe not terrible, it does have a telescoping steering wheel, but the seat is way too high.
Granted, at 6'2" I'm a little taller than most, but it felt like I was starting down at the top of the dashboard. I suppose it's set up that way to give the average size driver a good view through the windshield, but how about they just add a seat height adjuster instead? This is the "Sport" model after all, right?

Isn't the Fit geared towards shorter people. Hmm. I guess no one car is for everyone. What do other tall people say about the Fit's seating position?

I agree with Ed. I'm nearly as tall as he is, but when I last drove it I kept wishing I could drop the seat about 4 inches. Not the mention the seat cushion is about as flat as a toilet seat.

I agree with Ed as well. I like to see as much of the sky as possible instead of a headliner myself, and prefer a lower seating position. I don't want to sit in a bathtub, but the Fit's position is really annoying.

Yo Ed, you're tall! Especially for a Japanese economy compact!

I think the Fit/Jazz has height adjustable seats in other markets, but keep in mind that the fuel tank is under there. I doubt it could go 4" down, so that's the price of having such a low floor under the second row magic seats.

I guess it's just personal preference.
Even though I'm 6'2", I much prefer a low beltline, low dash and high seats in a daily driver. Combined with the Fits high roof and big windows, it makes for an extremely user friendly vehicle in day to day use.

I love a high seating position. I had that in my old VW Cabriolet. I dislike a low seating position.
Consider a lady's point of view. In a skirt. And heels. I know that's not exactly the kind of testing you do there at Edmunds, but you would think differently about the seating position if you tried getting in and out of a low-slung sports car.
You can't just put one leg in and sit and then bring in the other leg. You have to do a squat, far surpassing the thread strength testing of many slim-fitting skirts, making quite the impression as your skirt finds the weakest link and splits all on it's own.
Not to mention cracking open your skull on the way down, hoping you'll hit seat sooner than you actually do hit seat.
There's also the disabled or limited motion folks. If you have back or knee problems, low cars are NOT for you. Certainly not for me, anyway.
I remember my mum's old CRX. Low. Long doors. Practically decapitated me several times, when trying to squeeze in the door, when someone had parked too close.
Had to get into a limbo position and slide in at an angle.
