2009 Honda Fit Sport: Meet the New Boss...

fit.blog.jpg

...he's pretty much the same as the old boss.

I guess you could say the same for our 2009 Honda Fit Sport. While it boasts a fair amount of upgrades, it's still pretty much the same car that our 2007 Honda Fit Sport was. It's still (relatively) slow, the steering is still (almost too) quick, it's a piece of cake to drive and apparently, it doesn't seem to mind getting attacked by bugs while waiting for me to climb down from some photo location, toss in my gear and zip off to the next location.

I guess that is why you guys barely post anything about this car.

I still cant stand the Navigation System. It looks too aftermarket.

And yet you still got the 09'. Whens the 2011 coming in? Gotta get one of those, they might add in a new interior color and transplant an Acura navigation system into it.

Still my favorite Honda vehicle (only because the TSX and TL were made ugly) and the best sub-compact until the Fiesta comes to the U.S. market.

Off topic, but I saw a TL SH-AWD today in Mayan Bronze Metallic and it looked absoloutely fantastic. I don't care if people don't like the looks of the TL. I think it looks great.

I sort of regret not getting a second generation Fit to replace my 2008 after it got punched in the face. (Left turned by an Expedition.) For some reason however I am completely turned-off by the interior. They took the simple well laid out look and turned it into HEY GUYS WE'RE HIP RIGHT? I especially didn't like the new instrument panel.

Different strokes, I guess.

I must agree, the 2009 Fit was one of the more regrettable choices for your fleet...it didn't change much, did it?

Too bad you get stuck with "zipping" to the next location in the Fit, when you should be "hauling ass" in the M3 or other faster car. I like my Fit, it's right for me (right now), but the photog shouldn't get a slow car just because it carries gear... I'll bet your camera gear will "fit" in the M3, or Jetta TDI, and you'll get there ahead of the group!

Exactly, Kurt. This is one of the main reasons I was pissed that Edmunds chose ANOTHER stupid Fit for their fleet, when there were so many other deserving choices, including from brands that Edmunds has NEVER had in their long term fleet.

I like to see more unusual brands or cars too but I have no problem with the 09 Fit.

The Fit is an important change for US car buyer... a really good compact hatchback. It's easily the top in it's class but since most Americans mindlessly dismiss compacts as crap I think it's good to have Edmunds show them how wrong they are.

It is the same as the old car, but its original and essential merits remain. I'm much more disappointed with Scion's new xB than Honda's new Fit.

Oh yeah, forgot to mentioned that it's a bloated xB w/ fewer storage spaces in the dash.
