Say what you will about aerodynamics, tackiness and visibility, what really bugs me about the EVO's wing removal is the lack of a proper external cupholder. I'm certainly not going to put my sweating iced coffee on painted metal, but a big hunk of plastic is fair game in my book. Sure, we could put the wing back on, but then we're back to not being able to back up. Solution? Buy a 2009 Nissan GT-R-- stylish and functional.

Your paint would have to really suck to not be able to take a little condensation from a cup. Heaven forbid it should rain!

Because its Project EVO, why don't you just cut a hole in the trunk and add a proper recessed cup holder instead of a re-adding the wing. Sure it will really screw up what you put in the trunk, but wouldn't you rather hold your Starbucks in place at over 100mph on a track day?

@uncanny_man:
That's why there's holes left in your trunk lid when you remove your wing, it's so you can add mini umbrellas to keep your paint dry. Calm down and let Mother Nature take its course. People nowadays.

I ALWAYS put my Iced Venti Black Tea on my Saab's plastic rear spoiler when I'm unlocking my car! I was actually making a reference to an "external cupholder" to my friends not one week ago (I was driving and made a Starbucks pitstop). Seriously. I want a job at Edmunds too so I can ramble on about things like this.

I used to temporarily put mine on my roof until one day where I forgot I left my sunroof open.
I ended up with Strawberry Yogurt on my Cloth Interior.
Not Fun...

wait wait wait....subaru123 had a great idea...really, indent come cupholders into the trunk, it'll be dual use. Holds cups, better aero-dynamics too (maybe, it should cause less drag).

I bought spoiler plugs for my SRT-4 for $25 when I ditched the tacky wing. How about find a nab a trunk from a regular Lancer owner who wants an EVO's spoiler. They're gotta be plenty of them out there. It's hard as can be for me trying to find a yellow Neon without a spoiler, but blue Lancers... seen a ton of them.
As uncanny man said, heaven forbid it rain about the paint... but especially if you don't even put some electrical paint over those holes in the trunklid...

You know, external cupholders isn't too far-fetched of an idea...think about tailgating before a game. I could see somebody totally modifying a car for that sole purpose (in fact, I know a few who have). I mean, the Ridgeline already has what could be considered a built-in beer cooler under its pickup bed...
