Around 3 am I left my friend's house in Huntington Beach to travel the 48 miles north to my house in Santa Monica. I thought about spending the night, but there were people crashed out on the floor everywhere and I was wide awake.
There wasn't a soul in site as I pulled onto the freeway from a dead stop.
First gear: Gunning it, seeing how it feels. Once that turbo kicks in the GSR transforms from Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde.
Second: Slammed that gear back quick and hammered the gas. I can feel my weight sink in the seat.
Third: Quick flick of my thumb up and this thing is getting loud.
Fourth: Curl my fingers and mash that gas once again. Wow, without looking at the speedo I can tell I'm going fast!
As I clear the entrance ramp and enter the freeway I looked down a the speedo to see the needle well into tripple digits. This thing went from a dead stop to light speed in a matter of seconds. I'm stunned.
Holy. Crap.

One of the fastest street cars Ive been in was a friends 2006 Evolution. The car has seen a large amount of upgrades as it makes over 670WHP thanks to AMS. Its seriously quick from a standstill yet feels even faster from a roll. At full throttle all I saw was the headliner as the force about broke my neck.
The absolute fastest street car Ive been in was a 950+WHP Lexus SC300. Keep in mind it looks completely stock except for the Volk rims, lowered stance and the exhaust. The best part is it can be daily driven as it still had all the typical Lexus ammenities with the addition of a roll cage. Ive never once experienced a car that couldnt get traction at highway speeds (80+) until the SC300. That car was a scary ride!

HPF would be pissed, but there's such a thing as too much horsepower. I hope he had something limiting max power until 4th or 5th gear, or that's a good way to die.

Funny how you watch a movie and you start picking up on references right away. I just saw Spaceballs a few nights ago. And of course I just saw Star Trek, but who hasn't? By the way, that's ^ one of the best lines from the movie.
Since watching televised police pursuits is a traditional and highly beloved Southern Californian pastime, I look forward to the day when we all get to watch on involving an Edmunds editor in a LT car.
HA4, that Lexus sounds awesome but why would you intend to do something like that and pick an SC as your starting point? It adds ugly into the equation for no real reason.

He means the old, Supra-based SC, not the egg shaped one. Those Supra engines can push 1000+hp without really heavy modifications.

Oh, I didn't know it used to be Supra-based. That just makes the current iteration even sadder.
