Like some folks, I've been looking for a great deal on a new or used car lately. I've always coveted the Audi A4 Avant. I thought it'd be perfect for what I do in my free time, and a fun car to drive in between.
I never really liked the price, however.
I got to drive it up to Sonoma for the GT500 test we recently posted. I loved driving this vehicle. Besides, it became my latest photo sherpa. It allowed me to take this shot out the back:

That's an awesome photo Scott!
The Audi A4 Avant is one of the few station wagons I like. If I had the money I'd go for the new Audi Q5 over their wagon though.

Thats a hell of a shot. Did you have the whole lift gate open, or can the A4 open just the window?

Great picture-I feel the same way about Audi wagons. They would be great ski cars if I could afford one...

nice pic of the Ford. That has to be hanging out of the rear, camera pretty low-pretty brave going over that birm, must have been bumpy!
I am not a fan of the B8 A4 Avant. It looks WAY too much like a BMW 3 wagon and completely abandoned the much more practical upright rear glass and straight cut side glass of every A4 Avant before it.
The similarity of shape on the road to the BMW is just irksome.
As pointed out in your logs, it doesn't have much practical space advantage over the sedan. The wide open hatch is nice but they lost some Audi-ness in the B8.
I would take a B7 S4 Avant over a 09 pictured above, no question.
