2008 BMW X5 4.8i: Let's play a guessing game

CotW_04%20copy.jpg x5 blog.jpg

Pictured is dash of our Long Term 2008 BMW X5 just before a much needed fuel up. (Yes, I run the tank low. It's okay if you don't. I think it's fun.)  How many miles are on the trip odometer?

FYI: The 08 X5 has a 22.5 gallon fuel tank and gets an epa rating of 14 city/ 19 highway,16 combined.

Winner gets absolutely nothing. Bonus nothings for guessing how many gallons of the good stuff this fill required.

why does the segment on the x5 with 140 mph show the odometer at 23,929? On this picture it shows: 13,265.

Odometer rollback?

cx7lover says:

20.5 gals or so to fill it.

Next time, why not show us X5 tire treads so we can guess how long X5 tires will live from there? :-)

Isn't running the car down that low a bad thing?

quando says:

If it is anything like my toyota (yes, i know bmw is nothing like my toyota), you are probably sitting at around 243 miles and it took around 18.5 gallons to fill up.

smilez says:

07:41 AM, 02/26/09

312 miles. 19.4 gallon fill-up

smilez says:

07:45 AM, 02/26/09

Oh, and Quando. I hear ya'. WTF? I run my FJ about 15 miles after the light pops up. I go to fill the tank, and the most I've EVER filled up is 15.5 gallons (and I thought I'd be stranded before I made it to the station). And it's a 19 gallon tank! I know, I know, there's reserve fuel in there. But COME ON!

nealibob says:

07:49 AM, 02/26/09

260 miles. 18.5 gallons.

pookgai says:

louiswei says:

So... what's the answer?

lvranger says:

02:45 PM, 02/26/09

Smilez, same here. Tundra has a 26 gallon tank and the light comes on at 21. Lots o reserve.

lvranger says:

02:47 PM, 02/26/09

I'll guess 360.
