2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT: 8-foot couch?

555 couch rr.jpg

No problem for the Grand Caravan SXT. Well, not a problem so long as you don't mind leaving the gate open a hair

Oh, and not really a problem unless you have about 20-minutes and the freakish gorilla strength required to get the second-row seats out. At one point during the removal I had to use my foot as both a lever and as a stopper to block the tracks from locking themselves again. Swivel 'N Go is a neat parlor trick, but Stow 'N Go is far more useful.

Now that IS impressive, Who says you need a truck to move furniture.

And the sad thing is that many (most?) SUVs can't do that.

Jay Leno called, he wants his denim slip cover back.

24,008 Miles. Does this mean you guys like this car?

Denim couch?

I would get Stow N Go too as I can't think of any time I would swivel the middle seats.

The only SUV I can think of that can do that is the massive Suburban.

Even most full size pick ups would leave it sticking way out as 8 foot beds are rare these days.

You should have tried sticking the couch into some of the Crossovers to show the difference.

You're going somewhere to burn that thing, right??!

Oh, look at the fancy pants Manufacturers plate on the Caravan.

"24,008 Miles. Does this mean you guys like this car?"

It means that this car is very, very functional and we appreciate that even if the overall package leaves something to be desired.

"Denim couch?"

Don't worry, I'm not starting a cowboy-themed living room:
A) It was free -- a relic of Dan Edmunds' recent redecorating. Blame him for that one.
B) It is no longer denim.

i wonder if the flex can do that...

actualsize says:

No, the Flex couldn't do that. Not even close. Neither would any other CUV I can think of--Lambda platform included. I don't have one handy to check, but I'm not even certain about a Suburban. The opening might be tall enough, but as I remember the second row still sticks up and shortens the load floor after you tumble it forward. And the higher floor requires several inches more dead-lift.

As for the Denim, what can I say? It's comfy. It worked at the time. You had to be there.

Also with the Swivel-n-Go, you don't get a plug for the table mount in the floor. Errant objects can easily roll in there and clog it up.

I concur. Stow-n-Go is more practical at the expense of middle seat comfort. But does that really matter? The kids will be strapped into car seats anyway.

i always wondered who bought the denim furniture i saw in the store...

HEY!! I have a denim couch - two of them actually. They are holding up fairly well after 6 years of use. And they are very comfortable and almost indestructible.

Although my wife wants to get that new pleather stuff that looks and feels like swede, but cleans like vinyl.... I say keep the old till the kids grow up and move out.

See, now who says you need a gas guzzling truck to carry furniture?

Does a 4X8 sheet of plywood fit flat in this thing?
