2008 Audi R8: They've Raised Their Shields, Captain

First off, I can't take credit for this nice shot. My esteemed colleague Kurt Niebuhr shot while taking details of this car for a photo contest entry.

Not wanting to walk home after the shoot, I drove over to my girlfriends place since she has a garage to park this beauty in. It was a tight fit amongst the other cars and posts. I never knew a car could have so many tones and chirps telling you what's close, what isn't and stop now before you ram into that post.

I felt like I was on the bridge of the Enterprise and Khan was reciting Shakespeare.

Good lord, I'd forgotten about Ricardo Montalban's prosthetic man-breasts. Upholstered in rich Corinthian leather, no doubt.

Does he actually say any Shakespeare? I think you're thinking of General Chang (Christopher Plumber) in Part Six.

Khaaaaaan!

Khan does, but it's more brief than Chang. "From Hell's heart I stab at thee..." is what I remember off the top of my head.

Personally, I hate noise and would go crazy too.

Benson is right. Chang quotes Shakespeare. Jacobs and carlisimo are wrong. Khan quotes Melville (carlisimo's quote is from Moby Dick).

"I never knew a car could have so many tones and chirps telling you what's close, what isn't and stop now before you ram into that post."

But if this car didn't have it, everyone would complain that it's inexcusable that a $130,000 supercar didn't have parking sensors and a back-up camera. You can't please everyone, I guess..

agree with 7driver:

"Captain Ahab
Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. "

Thats the full quote. It does sort of sound like Shakespeare though doesn't it? Ahab is more appropriate though.

Sweet picture.

Those were 100-percent Ricardo, no prosthetic Khan boobs.

"Burried alive. Burried alive."

"Khaaaaaaan!"

Now I know what I'll be watching this evening.

(P.S. There was a whole load of Melville in "First Contact" too)

is there a full size version of that pic someplace?

Thanks for the corrections! Figures I'd be worse at literature than at Star Trek quotes.

Haha... never watched an episode of Star Trek in my life. Great shot of the R8.
