I took the R8 out again for more "cover" shots. Again, I spent the night at my girlfriend's house not only because she has a garage, but also I hadn't seen her the previous night. Two birds with one stone, right?
I woke up a little after 5am to get some sunrise shots. I was careful not to wake her. I picked up all my gear carefully and went out to the car as quietly as possible.
My ninja skills were thwarted by the turn of the key.
"BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!" Snarled the engine as it came to life.
Lights went on at the neighbors. A dog barked at me. Got a text from my lady: "loud".
I felt bad. For about a second that is. Once I got it out of her garage, it was like playing a really good round of Night Driver.

Nice car. Not good for driving it off at 5am in a tightly spaced neighborhood. The last thing the neighbors need at that time of day is a loud farting muffler, no matter how expensive it was to buy.

I'd sure rather be woken up by the sound of the R8 starting than the obnoxious cacophony that erupts from one of my neighbors' SUVs that sounds like they ripped out the muffler, if not the entire exhaust system. It seriously sounds like thunder, in a bad way, and can be just as startling sometimes. It's awful.

From a practical point of view, how easy is it to access the engine bay in the R8? Is adding oil, washer fluid, etc, an issue?

LOL...Night Driver, as in Atari 2600 and the paddles? SWEET! I played that game the longest with the joystick before I figured out it needed paddles. I thought it was F'd up.

I have an exhaust on my Audi TT and there are days when I wish it was louder but most nights when I come home or leave I always feel bad for parents and kids as the noise is quite intrusive. I could care less in some other neighborhood.
