2009 Ford Flex: Third-Row Seat

Ford_Flex_Cargo.JPG

When not in use, the 2009 Ford Flex's 50/50-split third-row seat folds flat and stores in a fairly deep rear well. When the rear seats are raised, the well is exposed. It's perfect for securing grocery bags, especially if you're using the reusable kind.

A low-production-value video of me raising the third-row seat and operating the power liftgate follows after the jump. Why bother watching Marina's HotForWords on YouTube when you can watch this instead?

The power liftgate is one of the quicker opening units I've encountered recently. Plus, for the opening process, you don't have to wait for any beeping delay; press the button and it goes. Closing the liftgate does take longer, though.

Good vids, that back seat looks relatively easy to fold up. Is it just as easy to put down?

Yep, lowering the seat(s) is just as easy.

That is simple! Our expedition's press and hold affair is simpler though. But with all the recent electrical nightmares that SUV is going through I wonder how much longer it will last...

I just realized that that is the Long-term Flex but only by the black on black on black (roof body interior). We don't see/hear enough of the editors to know who is who... Other than Karl and Michelle of Course.

For some reason, I really like the Flex. I think if you have more than 2 or three kids, and you don't want a minivan, this would be a good choice. I also really like the CX-9.

A Whole Foods bag among FoodMaxx bags? Pairing maximum discount with maximum markup seems rather odd to me.

The seat looks much easier to raise than the Rube Goldberg third row in the Mitsubishi Outlander. The Flex's dangling pull strap looks a little cheesy hanging there without some kind of retainer, though.

7Driver, maybe he was reusing bags to save the planet?

Anyway, I was expecting some demonstration from a hot chick with nice boobies. Thanks for wasting 28 seconds of my time, now I go & see Marina's video to forget about these gay videos.

I fail to see why Ford expects this car to be more successful than their Minivans as far as sales volume goes. This wagon is bigger and more expensive.
