Like having three knob/three button HVAC controls and...
...an armrest that gets out of the way when you don't need it that make the Scion xB experience a pleasant one. Because it sure isn't the styling.

You mean steroid-pumped faux-gangsta isn't stylin' anymore?

Its not that bad. Although I hate the front 3/4 view I like the back of the car. They could have made the hood shorter if they put a smaller engine in. At least it's functional and has the most interior volume per curb length.
I think I would prefer the On/Off AC button closer to the driver. I turn mine off and on depending on my speed to save gas.

Just for the sake of bitching...
The hvac still won't let me blow on my torso and defrost the window at the same time. Looks like Volvo is my only option.
That's a puny arm rest, to the point of uselessness.

I heard a very witty thing once: Scion is what old people in Japan think young people in US want to drive.

As someone who drives a vehicle with no armrest, I'd gladly take an almost useless one any day of the week.

Those controls look absolutely cheap and flimsy. Good thing they arent on an American car. How are those dials any better than the stuff Chrysler makes?

Actually, you can find them on an American car...the 2009 Pontiac Vibe, one of the worst cars i've driven in a long time...

You mean Toyota Vibe, a/k/a Matrix. The Vibe is about as American as Tokyo.

Well, clearly they are better, if Consumer Reports rates Scion as the MOST RELIABLE cars for 2007-2008 year. Oh, and guess what, Chrysler vehicles clustered near the bottom of the list. Big surprise there.

The "little things" are nice, but not much of a consolation when the big things (slow and ugly) are a total failure.

The Vibe was styled by GM house and is made in the USA by Union Labor. Its as American as the Ford Fusion

Wow that seat and armrest and center console look lifted straight out of a 15-year-old Dodge Caravan (or similar) to me. Not high-quality looking stuff.
