2008 Dodge Caravan: 18,000-mile Service

DGC_Dealer.JPG

Well, our long-term Caravan was at the dealer again yesterday, but this time it was just for an 18,000-mile service. I had it serviced in Fresno, Calif., at Lithia Dodge. An oil change and tire rotation set us back a very reasonable $52.

The service advisor was friendly and didn't try to stick us with anything out of the ordinary. Remember that Edmunds.com has dealership ratings where you can read and write reviews on dealers for sales and service.

I'm impressed you've put 18 million miles on the car.

Yes, impressive, isn't it? To the moon and back 37 times in our Enterprise-esque DGC. No doubt a world record. (Title fixed, thanks.) - Brent

You could've really made some friends at Lithia Dodge by having them fix all the squeaks and rattles the GC has.

I've rarely had good things to say about the Lithia franchise. They took over a Roger Beasley Honda dealership in San Marcos, TX and overnight their service center went to hell.

The one in Lompoc charged me for a CEL check that should have been covered under warranty. They also charged me for time I spent chatting with the mechanic.

The one here in Great Falls is only tolerable because I know all the techs personally.

Yes, I've already submitted my comments on the dealer rating site.

". They also charged me for time I spent chatting with the mechanic."

That is funny, it is like an attorney.
