What's scarier that your doing 136mph or that you're taking a picture while doing 136mph.

so it only shows you the gear if you are in the manual mode? That is a nice feature. The Mazda's I've rented show you the gear even in drive so there is always this distracting red number changing on the dash.

yeah, nothing like steering with your knee while you take a picture at 136 mph :)

@tmanz
I actually really enjoyed knowing what gear I was in, when driving a Mazda6 v6 for about a month. It was nice, especially considering how quickly the tranny would kick down to 5th.

Using a digital camera is a one-handed affair for me. I've taken a shot of the speedometer in my car at more than 100 mph the same way.

its a remarkably clear shot for this speed. Can we take that to mean that the CTS is quite stable at high speed?

I don't know about you guys, but my 06 Civic SI (on less than race-track smooth surfaces) can easily be driven one-handed at 100mph. I imagine 136 is a different territory, but I think that most modern cars have really good stability at 100-110mph.
And with modern digital cameras autofocusing till the moment they click, I don't think it'd be that hard to get a clear shot at that speed.

looks like it might be hard to clean in the holes around the gauges. Get out the James May dash brush.

My Mazda is limited to 118- very stable and it's a 3000 lbs compact car with subpar aerodynamics and skinny tires.

I just noticed that the tach is now at ~5200 rpms in 5th gear but is 2 mph faster than the previous post at 7000 rpms? Did it hit 134mph in 4th?

Joe, yes. The Caddy's gearing is such that 134 can arrive in 4th gear.
