This is the first time I've gotten to drive our Evo X. Wow, it's fast! Stupid fast. How do I know it was stupid fast?
Well, I was driving over to a friends house when the guy in front of me to my right had no lane discipline and changed lanes for no reason. Annoyed, I pulled to the right and punched the gas. Wooosh! and I was off in a big hurry.
When I got to my friends house, he asked how the car was.
"Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeh..... It's fast."

If the X is stupid fast, how do you describe the GTR?

How do you think it compares to the STI?

I was just going to say what lazyhater wrote, but he beat me to it.
I would say the Lancer Evo is quick, but not stupid fast.

that's plenty fast. if you simply need a car from point A to point B, you really have no need for that much power. it is OVERKILL! it's not just enough power for extra legal speeds, it's enough power for throw me in jail speeds. driving a GTR would be torture because it is just that much faster. the problem for both cars is they do attract attention from street racers and you will have the urge to teach them a lesson from time to time. if you never go to the track, you really have no need for even a GTI/ Civic SI as that will get you in trouble. don't even think about this...

"I would say the Lancer Evo is quick, but not stupid fast."
I call any car that does the 1/4 in the 11s stupid fast, the EVO X is low 13s, I call that average fast, ok fast......actually it is barely fast now a days, a bunch of family car that are not even advertise as performance car is just as fast as a stock EVO X......G8 GT, 335i, IS350, GS460..... house wife who own those are not even looking for speed, and they run in the 13s.

huyracing, I am in no way saying the EVO X slow here, I am just questioning the use of the term "stupid fast".
I guess if the EVO X is stupid fast, the GTR is scary fast.

If the GTR is scary fast, the Vette ZR1 must be plaid.

Well done, m_thrizzle. "They've gone PLAID!"

+1 on the Spaceballs reference =) But if the GT-R went plaid who would be Lord Dark Helmet? Magrath?

The Veyron is plaid, the ZR1 aren't that much quicker then the GTR.

I think dangerous fast is the best description of most of the cars mentioned. The cars may be capable of that performance but the vast majority of drivers are not.
Problem is the only requirement for owning a car that can 1/4 mile in the 11 to 13 second range is a big wallet.

I hate drivers with no lane discipline. They only make a bad situation worse.

lazyhater - the ZR1 is MUCH faster than the GT-R. Look at the 1/4 mile times and trap speeds: the ZR-1 does 11.3 seconds @ 131 mph trap speed. The GT-R does 11.8 seconds @ 118 mph. Look at the trap speeds. A 13 mph faster trap speed is HUGE, and shows the tremendous power advantage the ZR-1 has. What it translates to is by 150 mph, the GT-R would be many bus lengths behind. The only reason the GT-R is in the high 11's and the ZR-1 isn't in the 10's is traction. The GT-R has great traction with AWD, while the ZR-1 is limited with its RWD. Put racing slicks on the ZR-1, and it'll run mid-10's no problem.

Did ya'll know the MR does 5.2 0-60 and the Ralliart 5.5! that's insane!.... and it's like $12,000 less!

what's the difference between crazy fast and stupid fast? Sorry for my ignorance of Californian or teenage technical automotive terms.

stingray454, I knew all that, I was simply thinking of both street cars being driven on the street. Since no one drive around on the street on racing slicks and few people insane enough to go faster then 150 mph on the street.
On the street in normal traffic in the speed range of 0-130, the ZR1 aren't that much quicker then the GTR, it is never more then a few car lengths ahead.
