Cars like the Ferrari, GT-R, GT, 02 M3 and R8 completely defeat the purpose of a real world road testing blog because in the real world people aren't really buying these. But that doesn't mean the fleet should be filled with fits, yaris' and civics.
cx7 lover, "real world people" don't read this blog. Enthusiasts do, and being an enthusiast who will be buying an E46 M3 soon, uhhhhh...
it does matter. Speak for yourself.
I am starting to agree with cx7 and louis on this issue, not gonna lie. Obviously I know a GT-R and R8 are great, but their real life livability to of pretty much zero interest to me - and I'd consider myself an enthusiast.
Lighten up people. It was both clever and appropriate. I've really enjoyed the GT-R and R8 posts. It's not like I'm going to go purchase the cars, but it's still fun to read about them.
Donna, I used to live in S. Calif and remember its roads=parking lots well. Still, there are a few fun drives down there (how about Decker Canyon road to Ojai?)
The beauty is you never know. My friend drives a Legacy like that in the Mirror and makes well over 500hp at the wheels... its fun terrorizing people who think an expensive car = they're better than you. I know some Gallardo owners who will never try to race a Subaru again and my WRX only made 400hp at the wheels, lol.

I'll bet they all actually own their cars though.

Sure, if you call financing "owning."

As opposed to borrowing from your employer?

Like the fact that they don't own any of these cars in the blog matters, they're still driving it.

...borrowing from an employer that wants you to drive the car hard and abuse it.
Yip. I'd like to drive my employer's car.

If those cars were at Willow Pprings or Milford or Nurburing, "inferior" makes sense.
If it's a crowded freeway /main street and the GT-R is crawling along like everything else, "inferior" might mean the road, or the driving experience.
The wrong road for GT-R for sure.

Although an awesome entry but totally defeats the purpose of the LT blog.
This is what cars like GT-R and R8 will do to a LT blog...

Fantastic!
On another note. Is socal so great that it's worth sitting in a parking lot half of every day? Just curious...

I was just at a red light. There are plenty of fun driving roads in L.A.

Objects in mirror can also be bought for MSRP, and not double MSRP, without having to pull the "I'm with a major automotive media outlet" card.

Hey, that looks like the front end of my Suburban behind the GT-R (minus the bug deflector, and I have aftermarket headlamps).
Inferior is a relative term - the GT-R is inferior when it comes to doing the jobs that a Suburban can do. ;)

My Dad recently got a pre-owned Boxster S which read "Objects in mirror are losing." on its rear-view.
