Rolled out to the XGames this past weekend to check out BMX, skateboarding, and the SuperMotoX and Moto Freestyle events. We took the C300 and, boy, was this pup out of place. You see, there's not a lot of luxury cars at the XGames; most of the guests showed up in Tall-Boy pickup trucks like the one in the pic.
The C300 was a fine taxi, and an interesting comparison to the Caddy CTS that I took to Laguna Seca for the MotoGP race. The C-class feels just a bit lighter in its handling than the CTS, with a slightly firmer, but not unpleasant ride quality. The Benz 7-speed auto transmission is almost always in the right gear for me, with just a slight delay on kick-down during a few freeway merges. But the CTS has the best interior in class. So which one should you choose? Well, the Tall-Boy pickup, of course: XGames chicks diggit!

Haha. Nice. I drove a C300 this past weekend at an Audi event in NH. very cool car, but the CTS must be a real porker because I felt the C300 felt very heavy compared to the new A4 and IS250.
BTW- did you see that dude wipe out in the big air skate event? ouch. (almost as bad as the guy last year!)

I dont like the C300. Got one for a loaner while a car was serviced and I didn't care for it at all. It shouldn't be on anyone's radar unless they really want a Mercedes... many better entry level luxury cars or even better non luxury cars like the Accord, Camry, etc.

Yeah, saw the skate fall from the sky. Ton of crash action in Supermoto, too. But the rally races took the cake - did you see this putz?

Was the C300 you tried a Sport? Maybe the lux version's no good for you.

I would disagree that the CTS has the best interior in the class. I think it is the most attractive, but ultimately feels cheap. The new A4 has the most sumptuous interior and the C-Class despite being the ugliest interior certainly feels the most tightly screwed together. Mercedes are not (or more accurately should not) be about flash or style but solid craftsmanship. This the C has.
