The day you've all been waiting for has finally arrived, kids, the track test results for our 1.0L, 70 horsepower Long Term Smart Fortwo Passion Coupe!

its amazing how much work had to be done to make such a small and light car perform so poorly.

Was that zero to sixty time recorded while driving in automatic or manual mode?

Where is the "passion" in the Smart fortwo passion coupe? It's obviously not in the performance.

casp201: ditto. Did you guys just leave it unrepaired?

Yikes. Why did this thing have to suck so bad? They could have out-Mini'd the Mini, but instead it's a total POS. Nobody expected it to be fast, but it could have at least handled well, and come with a decent transmission.

Hey it sucks in every measurable test, has no cargo space, is no fun to drive, is expensive... barely gets better mpg's than a Focus or FIT

at least you get to be outhandled by a 5000lb suv.

wow, awesome.

At least the braking is acceptable. I suppose it doesn't take a lot to stop such a light car.

Actually, he could've just worn the car as a helmet.

First time I have ever seen a track test, with the track winning.

If you stuck it in neutral and pushed it, it would've posted better numbers

Maybe they should've tossed it into the Tundra's bed and retested the Tundra. j/k

Josh, you have a black helmet and a white helmet? It must be some of that mad ______ money Chris was talking about. I'd like to see a piece of the action, too! I wouldn't mind having a black helmet to go along with my white one.

I'll bet it would be a least 3 seconds faster to 60 with a real manual transmission.... 5 mpg better too.

Hey is that a red malibu LTZ beside the 135i... Or is that the Aura... Wait its the CTS!! So many red cars! I'm lovin it!! Much better than all the silver!

The performance vids would be funny! That little car does try hard for so few hp! All it needs is a turbocharger!!

So this car doesn't really get great fuel economy. It can't carry the smallest load. Its not really safe. It doesn't go. It doesn't turn. It can barely stop. It will whip your head clean off your shoulders in normal driving. So far your entries have identified exactly two reasons to get this vehicle: To park in really small spots, and to have easily-amused idiots point and gawk at you. Yay.

boxermike says:

Actually, CJ, you're wrong on all counts there. The red car behind the 135 is not a long-termer. Guess again.

It's the 135i.

The whole entire "Smart" car, is pointless.

It is funny they name it "Smart", the exact opposite of what it is.

Really the only single benefit of this car, is being able to fit in very small parking spaces in a crowded city.
