Has the CTS gone through its first oil change yet? If not, when should it be? Is it just me or 1.3 quarts seems a lot between oil changes?

Those are some serious stripes, lol! From the looks of that melted asphalt you must have done some heavy brake-torquin', Scott.

Ooh. Limited slip differential?

carlisimo- the CTS has a limited slip. I'm just surprised it could lay down such rubber since it's so heavy. I guess the 3.6L has plenty of grunt...

What is the sump capacity on that thing?!

I suspect a little extra oil usage is expected the way these folk are beating on the car. I'd expect the overall mpg ratings they'll publish will be low too. It's hard on a car to have your foot planted so much.

I wonder if 1) has something to do with 2)...

Melting asphalt does tend to dent the MPG slightly.

Louis - The current rate of consumption would be ~1 quart per 5000 miles, while the engine is in break-in.
Is it just me, or does that seem low?
:)
FYI, my 06 Civic SI consumed ~1 quart every 1000-1500 miles for the first 26000 miles....I finally found an oil brand where it's slowed down to 1 quart every 5000 miles.
Oil IS a combustible....

Nice stripes! It looks like the tail didn't wag out at all during the turn.

I could see James recording a stint of himself rolling down a hill in the CTS in neutral.
